Today and tomorrow zonal flow westerly comes over the area as the northern and southern Jet split over the Central U.S.  This will result in the 4-Corners cut-off low to move east with precipitation across Texas and southeast U.S., while a quiet weather pattern sets-up locally with above normal temperatures and intensifying moderate to extreme drought conditions.  The next upper-level trough will come onto the West Coast and over the Rockies Friday and over the weekend, and through the Plains and Midwest early next week.  This will lead to colder temperatures, highs in the 30’s and lows in the upper teens and chances for shots of light snow associated with short-wave pieces of energy Saturday night early Sunday, Monday morning and Tuesday into Wednesday.
