Upper-level ridge, down sloping westerly surface flow and dry air mass over the area today and tomorrow.  The ridge results in dry conditions and above normal temperatures in the 50’s and 60’s lows in the 20’s.  Thursday and upper-level trough will approach from the northwest and the main low pressure with remain north of the area along the Canadian border, thus northwest flow sets-up over the Tri-state area with a dry cool front moving through to ending the week with cooler high temperatures in the 40-45-deggree range and lows in the teens.  Northwest winds will gust 30-45 mph, thus elevated fire danger conditions will be a concern.  Upper-level ridging Friday night and early Saturday, while Saturday afternoon another trough and cold front moves into the Plains
