Upper-level ridge builds from the west over the Rockies and into the Plains for today, tomorrow, and Wednesday.  The ridge results in dry conditions and above normal temperatures to the Tri-State area.  Thursday and upper-level ridge will approach from the northwest and the main low pressure with remain north of the area along the Canadian border, thus northwest flow sets-up over the Tri-state area with a weak and dry cool front moving through to ending the week on a cooler breezier note.  Afternoon high temperatures drop to more seasonal readings in the 40’s with gusty northwest winds 15-20 mph.
